We rely on donations to continue the work that we do. Find Out How To Donate Here A 5 year old pug that has undergone a desexing, vaccination, microchipping, airway surgery and a dental will have cost us $3,500+ alone in vet work yet their adoption fee is far less. Female Fawn Pedigree Desexed Pug – 5.5kg
Microchip Number: #956000006052147
DOB: 01/08/2016
Victorian Pet Exchange Register Source Number: RE108835
Maisy’s furever home wishes:
♥ OTHER DOG – Yes! Maisy needs a companion pug or very pug like small pug x. She has always lived with other pugs A healthy male pug – desexed, well trained and well socialised, non reactive or barky, non dominant, calm, healthy weight (between 6kg to 8kg), healthy pug aged between approx 5 to 7 years. Maisy enjoys the companionship as well as playing wrestling and chasey other pugs. Maisy is not suited to being placed with another female pug as there will be fights. Maisy is not suitable to be homed with another breed of dog. She is not suited as a single dog.
♥ HUMANS – Maisy is seeking humans that understand that she’s a little bit different and can provide her with strong leadership. She is responsive to being shown the correct way to do things and thrives with routine. She is extremely smart and understands instructions but can find it hard to concentrate/sit still/focus. Cuddles is fence reactive. Cuddles can never be allowed to become overweight again!!!!
♥KIDS – Maisy may be respectful children. We would recommend if her new home does have children they are dog savvy and will not hype her up. If the home does have children they will have already completed their family with Maisy being their last child.
♥ Maisy as with with all of our pugs requires secure brick, timber or colourbond fencing.
♥CATS – We are unsure of what Maisy is like with cats.
♥Maisy requires at least a 15 to 20 minute walk a day and is continuing to build up her fitness to 30+ minute walks.
♥Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Maisy absolutely requires air-condition.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥Maisy needs a home with minimal steps/levels and with a small to medium yard She is not suited to townhouses/units as she will bark at noises and even though she is a tiny pug she has a massive bark.
Medical notes:
Maisy has lost 1.5kg in weight. She was 7kg and is now 5.5kg
Maisy has undergone desexing, suspected mammary lump removals a prolapsed vagina repair.
Maisy has undergone hind leg and spine xrays. Xrays of her hind legs show us fractured fabellas in both hind legs (a small bone that sits near the knee joint on the back of the leg) and resultant tears in the calf muscles with the cause being either traumatic injury or prolonged repetitive trauma such as running/ jumping up and down in a breeding dogs cage/pen. Maisy is not in any pain and can walk just fine.
From observation we feel Maisy may have cerebellum ataxia causing some of her unusual behaviour & movements. She is not unwell due to this just a little “ditzy”and uncoordinated.
Maisy has undergone specialist airway surgery by Dr Ricky of Melbourne Animal Referral Services (folded palatoplasty to trim and reduce the thickness of her soft palate, widening of her nares/nostrils and tonsillectomy)
Maisy has undergone a major dental at Knox Vet.
Maisy is desexed, C5 vaccinated, is microchipped & up to date with her worming & flea prevention.
- ♦Please note that due to the large volume of daily adoption enquiries we receive, our volunteers are unable to respond to adoption enquiries that clearly do not match the clearly state furever home requirements of each available pug/dog.

Microchip Number: #978102100275974
DOB: 09/12/2015
She promises that if you pick her she will reward you with lots of head tilts and snuggles…
Cheeky but very smart….
After $4,000 in vet work and rehab this little black puggy girl is now looking for a fresh start….
Specialist airway surgery by Dr Ricky from Melbourne Animal Referral Services at Knox Vet has helped Cuddles finally after 6.5 years more easily breathe…
Terrible pedigree genetics causing a tiny trachea, tiny nostrils, soft palate to be thick and elongated and tonsils to be massive made poor Cuddles constant distressing loudly puff and heave…
Her breathing since surgery has now improved drastically….
