Little three year old black puggy princess Maci is ready to start her new life…
She used to be a 14.3kg girl who was morbidly obese, had matted brown dead hair all over her, was scared and shy meaning she was in lots of strife…..
Having lost 7.6kg, which is over half her body weight, dropping to her current 6.7kg, growing in confidence and undergoing gold standard brachy vet work she is now well and truly ready for her pawfect furever family to love…
Maci says she is truly happiness in the form of a little black pug…

Waggle, waggle, waggle…
Maci’s whole body goes….
She’s a busy little girl who will keep you on your toes…
A cheeky soft natured girl who loves cuddles and giving kisses with her button nose…

7.6kg in weight shed off her meaning she looks and feels like a completely different girl to the one that first arrived into our care…..
Ear infection treatment, vaccination and vet checks at Knox Vet as well as many baths and brushes to remove all of her built up dead hair….
Undergoing Specialist BOAS airway surgery by Dr Ricky at Geelong Animal Referral Services – folded palatoplasty to shorten and thin her soft palate, tonsillectomy and widening of her nares (nostrils) was done…
Meaning she no longer struggles to breathe now that she can run around having fun….
Maci is now fit and well..
And so happy about having a new lease on life as you can tell….

Maci is a social butterfly who loves to run around, wrestle and play…
She loves soft toys and chew toys which she will share with other puggies during the day…
Sitting on the couch snuggled up to a puggy friend in a spot of sun…
Maci likes to be part of the action is always ready for fun….

From originally struggling with walking due to lack of socalisation and her extreme weight she now strides confidently….
She enjoys her walkies and outings and loves going out for coffee….
Maci is a good girl and will do what is asked of her including sit and wait…
She loves ear rubs, pats and of course thinks cuddles are great….
After a massive rehabilitation journey she can’t wait to find her furever home that includes a young handsome boy puggy as a soulmate mate….

MACI XXX

Maci either sleeps on an indoor doggy bed that she is happy to share with another pug. She is also very happy to sleep/relax in a crate with or without another pug. Maci can be barky with new people/visitors to her foster home but will calm.
Maci is toilet trained.
Maci walks well on a lead and harness and isn’t reactive and is fine in the car.
Maci knows how to sit and wait and wait until told it’s ok to eat.

Maci’s furever home wishes:

♥ OTHER PUG – YES! Maci will not be rehomed as a single dog. She has always had a pug companion. She must have a home with a desexed, healthy, not overweight, well trained and very well socialised outgoing but non reactive male pug of a similar age to herself. (approx 2 years to 4 years old) Maci is fine socalising and even holidaying with most other female pugs/dogs but is not suited to being homed with another female pug.
♥ HUMANS – Maci is seeking humans that can provide her with good leadership. She is extremely responsive to being shown the correct way to do things. Maci also needs humans that will not overfeed her.
♥KIDS – Maci would be fine with younger children who are respectful to dogs.
♥FENCING – Maci with all of our pugs requires secure brick, timber or colourbond fencing. She is not suited to fencing that can be seen through.
♥CATS – Unsure. Maci may be ok with dog savvy cats.
♥EXERCISE – Maci loves her walks and adventures and requires at least a 20 to 30 minute walk a day.
♥WORKING HOURS – Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Maci absolutely requires air-condition.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥HOUSE & YARD SIZE/TYPE: Maci would like a home with a yard but may be ok in a townhouse/unit with a larger yard area.
