Awesome Frenchie lady looking for her furever home……
Tuna is the bestest girl and after being used to breed with, sold off, taken to a pound/shelter then coming into Pug Rescue specialist brachy care for extensive rehab she’s finally ready to look for a furever family to call her own….
We seriously can’t fault this girl apart from maybe her accidently exploding soft toys that she loves to play with…
Tuna is kind, intelligent happy, doesn’t bark, walks perfectly, brilliant with her doggy foster Frenchie and pug friends, is toilet trained, crate trained and can wait and sit….
Tuna entered our care quite emaciated, very anxious and at risk of losing one of her eyes due to an indolent eye ulcer that refused to heal despite intensive treatment with the help of the by the Melbourne EyeVet Team…
Unfortunately her cornea started melting, became infected and perforation of her eye and losing it was about to be seen…
So multiple eye specialist appointments along with an extremely intensive regimen of topical and oral medications started as she was not a viable candidate for surgery…..
Intensive foster care medical treatment for over two months , calming meds, constant specialist appointments, crate and lead toileting and eating and a massive cone on Tuna’s head was needed to save Tuna’s eye…
And when it was healed, we gave a big sigh…
Prior to entering our care Tuna had previously undergone a form of BOAS surgery but her breathing was still very labored, so she was gifted, by Pug Rescue, correct BOAS surgery performed by Dr Ricky at Geelong Animal Referral Services including a folded palatoplasty to thin and trip her soft pallet, a tonsillectomy and widening of her nares….
We recogised the need to for more surgery, took the time and spent the money on Tuna because we care…
And Tuna’s breathing has now greatly improved and she no longer struggles so much for air….
Whilst Tuna now looks fit and healthy she came to us emaciated and with her rib cage sticking out and ribs on display….
She wouldn’t eat for days, then slowly accepted hand fed food and then would only eat slowly and small amounts with her foster mum sitting beside her for the longest time…
With months of work Tuna has gained 2kg or so, no longer looks emaciated and will most days eat her large bowls of food without supervision just fine….
And of course she likes her dental chew snack time..
So anyway enough about all of the medical jargon Tuna says…
Whilst staring intently and resting her sweet head..
She says she’s as awesome as can be…..
And whilst she is a larger statured girl she is still a lady..
So if you are looking for a fun loving, great mannered, well adjusted, social French lady…
Who is finally enjoying life after having babies…
