Petite and sassy Frenchie lady looking for her furever home……
Jilbie is a delight and can’t wait to find a furever family to call her own…
Coming into Pug Rescue care from a pound/shelter for specialist brachy care and rehab this little girl is as funny as can be…
Jilbie is always happy, walks perfectly, gets along well with her Frenchie friends, is toilet trained, crate trained, can sit and wait and her side eye glances we think are hilariously funny….
Jilbie entered our care with incontinence, very anxious and worked up and with terrible breathing which sounded like a coffee machine working overtime…
We worked out that her peeing herself was due to some medication she was on which we have taken her off and her toileting now is just fine….
She holds in on her crate overnight and whilst inside during the day…
And runs outside to toilet and doesn’t have any accidents now yay…
Prior to entering our care Jilbie had previously undergone a form of BOAS surgery but her breathing was still very bad, so she was gifted, by Pug Rescue, correct BOAS surgery performed by Dr Ricky at Geelong Animal Referral Services including a folded palatoplasty to thin and trim her soft pallet, a tonsillectomy and widening of her nares….
We recognised the need to for more surgery, took the time and spent the money on Jilbie because we care…
And Jilbie’s breathing has now greatly improved to the point where you can’t here her and she no longer struggles for air….
Jilbie is quite cheeky….
And loves playing tapping games with her pawseys…
Toys she’s a bit unsure about but sometimes will guard them from her friends so her playing with them might progress in a new house….
She does however like to have little games of wrestle and chasey when it comes to Frenchie playtime which we think is grouse….
Walkies are a joy for Jilbie and she goes at quite a good pace…
She’s confident and it helps that she can now freely breathe..
It took quite a while for Jilbie to learn to sit and to wait….
She thought that jumping around and dancing was a good thing to do but finally figured out that if she sits she gets yummy things which is great….
We are pretty sure Jilbie is quite deaf but she hides it quite well….
And most people wouldn’t be able to really tell…
She loves joining in with daily life in her foster home and thrives on routine….
Sitting by your feet or running to her crate to open the door and stand in it which is one of the funniest things we have seen….
So if you are looking for a sweet little loyal Frenchie…
Who likes giving side eye glances and tapping her feet happily…

JILBIE XXX
Currently Jilbie sleeps in an indoor crate which she loves. She will run to it and open the door and get in.

Jilbie is a confident walker on a lead and harness and is not reactive.
Jilbie knows how to sit and wait/stay.
Jilbie’s furever home wishes:
♥ OTHER FRENCH BULLDOG/DOG – YES or NO! Jilbie may be ok as a single dog or with a non reactive and submissive smaller statured Frenchie or similar sized dog of a similar age as a companion. She can be a bit pushy sometimes when it comes to attention but has learnt heaps about sharing in foster care.
♥ HUMANS – Jilbie is seeking humans that can show her positive leadership and understand that some of her behaviors are because she doesn’t hear to well and she didn’t have the best start to life.
♥KIDS – Jilbie would be fine with younger kids as long as they understand that she doesn’t understand being picked up and will go stiff.
♥FENCING – Jilbie requires secure brick, timber or colourbond fencing. No gaps or areas that can be seen through as she will fence run.
♥CATS – Possibly. Jilbie has previously lived with cats.
♥EXERCISE – Jilbie requires at least a 15+ minute walk a day.
♥WORKING HOURS – Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Jilbie absolutely requires air-condition.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥HOUSE & YARD SIZE/TYPE – Jilbie would be fine in a smaller sized townhouse with a small yard/courtyard.
Medical notes:
Jilbie has undergone a vet check at Knox Vet.
Jilbie has undergone specialist BOAS airway surgery by Dr Ricky of GARS (folded palatoplasty to trim and reduce the thickness of her soft palate and tonsillectomy)
Jilbie is desexed, C5 vaccinated, is microchipped & up to date with her worming & flea prevention.
Jilbie has some typical Frenchie spinal vertebrae and a corkscrew tail. Which cause her no issues asides from presenting as a slightly altered hind leg stiffer gait.
Jilbie has a very tiny squeak as a bark that sounds like she may have undergone debarking at some stage.
