Black puggy diva alerting you that I’ve had my life make over and I’m ready to make my furever home dreams come true…
I used to be morbidly obese, had horrendous breathing, was sold through several homes, had horrendous anxiety and behavioural issues, was fighting with another female pug before I thankfully finally came into the care of Pug Rescue…..
With Pug Rescue’s help I’ve lost over 6kg now (was 13kg+ now 7.1kg, which is nearly half my body weight, learnt not to be silly and manic, learnt that I can socalise with other puggies and even play and I’ve undergone BOAS surgery which has improved my breathing heaps…
So now I’m searching for a furever home that will have me for keeps…
Do you like my side eye and my cheeky face…
I can pull all sorts of funny puggy facial expressions which everyone things are funny and ace….
I’m a busy girl who will keep you on your toes…
But I do love a cuddle and being a bit cray cray is part of being a pug as everyone knows…
6kg+ in weight shed means I look and a like a completely different girl to the one that first arrived into our care…..
Vaccination, vet checks and anxiety meds at Knox Vet as well as many baths and brushes to remove all of my built up dead hair….
Undergoing Specialist BOAS airway surgery by Dr Ricky at Geelong Animal Referral Services – folded palatoplasty to shorten and thin my soft palate, tonsillectomy and widening of my nares (nostrils) was done…
Meaning I now longer make horrendous sounds or struggle to breathe and now can run around having fun….
I’m now a fit and well..
And pretty impressed with my new lease on life if you couldn’t tell….
I love to be part of the action and am always ready to join in…
I’m a typical diva who loves to know what you’re doing….…
I do like to play with toys and yes I have learnt to play with other puggies too…
Relaxing on a doggy bed or in a sunny spot or even on human laps is what I also like to do….
From originally struggling with walking due to excess weight and horrible breathing I now stride confidently….
Checking out everything there is to see….
I do admit that I like to sing in the car but maybe I can form a duo or even a choir with whomever adopts me…
So anyway….
If I sounds like the black diva puggy that is missing from your life please send an adoption enquiry my way….
DOLLY XXX
Video of Dolly’s Then (when she entered care) & Now: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14o3VYfz7B/
Dolly is also happy to sleep/relax in a crate with or without another pug.
Dolly is toilet trained.
Dolly walks well on a lead and harness and isn’t reactive and she loves car rides but does sing.
Dolly knows how to sit and wait and wait until told it’s ok to eat.
DOLLY’S furever home wishes:
♥ OTHER PUG – YES She has thrived and calmed in her behaviour by learning how to be a dog with her foster pug siblings. She would be suited to a home with a non reactive laid back desexed healthy weight male pug of a similar age (fawn only as other black pugs trigger her).
♥ HUMANS – Dolly is seeking humans that can provide her with good leadership. She is extremely responsive to being shown the correct way to do things. Dolly also needs humans that will not overfeed her. It would be devastating if she regained the weight she has lost.
♥KIDS – Younger kids would set Dolly into anxiety mode so teenagers or no kids at all.
♥FENCING – Dolly with all of our pugs requires secure brick, timber or colourbond fencing. She is not suited to fencing that can be seen through.
♥CATS – Unsure. Probably not/
♥EXERCISE – Dolly loves her walks and adventures and requires at least a 20 to 30 minute walk a day.
♥WORKING HOURS – Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Dolly absolutely requires air-condition.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥HOUSE & YARD SIZE/TYPE: Dolly would like a home with a yard but may be ok in a townhouse/unit with a larger yard area.
Medical notes:
Dolly has lost kg weight in our care (she was 14.3kg when she arrived and is now 7.1kg).
Dolly has undergone specialist airway surgery “BOAS” surgery by Dr Ricky of Geelong Animal Referral Service (folded palatoplasty to trim and reduce the thickness of her soft palate, widening of her nares/nostrils and tonsillectomy).
Dolly has undergone vet check, vaccination and anxiety treatment at Knox Vet. (Dolly takes 1/2 a Lovan per day)
Dolly is desexed, C5 vaccinated, is microchipped & up to date with her worming & flea prevention.
