Buster is a senior treasure who’s got the softest hair and happiest tail waggle for everyone…
He was treated like trash and thrown out like garbage when his puppy money making days were done… But as they say one person’s trash is another’s treasure and we think this little puggy boy is an absolute treasure and now that he has recovered from major vetwork he hoping to find his very own furver retirement home with loving dad and or mum….
Imagine being an 11 & 1/2 year old blind pug and finding yourself distressed and confused as an unreclaimed stray in a country pound/shelter after being used to breed with to produce puppies sold of to people via Gumtree, Trading Post and Facebook too…
Your eyes almost 100% blinded by thick scar tissue covering them and are sore, your hips have hip dysplasia, your teeth not in the best shape, you have a cancerous growth on your side so you are transferred to Pug Rescue care as they will know what to do..
This is exactly what happened to Buster who is the sweetest senior man..
Arriving into Pug Rescue care Buster underwent the huge amount of literally “basic vet” work at Knox Vet that he needed to begin to patch him up the best we can…
Dr Sharon performed desexing, spine and hip X-rays, mast cell cancer removal and a dental as well…
The massive surgery incision that was needed to remove Buster’s cancer has healed up and lab results show it was a lower grade mast cell cancer with clear margins thankfully..
Buster has also been to see eye specialist Melbourne EyeVet and now has some special eye drops to help make his eyes more comfortable and restore a tiny bit of his vision over time hopefully…
Buster’s basic vet care has cost Pug Rescue in excess of $4,000 due to the neglect he has suffered in his past..
Why oh why do people continue to purchase puppies and support the never ending cycle of cruelty we ask…
Whilst Buster might be a senior boy with limited sight, he doesn’t miss anything…
He can perfectly navigate his way around the foster homes he’s been in, jump up on the couches and even use a doggy door which is amazing!
This boy has an absolutely lovely happy nature and gets along with his puggy foster buddies brilliantly…
If he’s not joining in on whatever is going on he can be found curled up snuggling with a puggy friend which is lovely to see…..
Short strolls to sniff out the tree mail are great….
And of course, if you have food Buster will be your mate…
Buster is a champ for his eye drops which he gets twice a day…
And after years of suffering his eyes are already so much more comfortable yay..
So if you can offer Buster the love of a furever family….
He says that Pug Rescue has completed all of his vet work and promises that caring for him is very easy…
And he may fit into a home with other middle aged to senior puggies quite happily, so if he sound like the puggy boy for you…
Please send and enquiry through….

Buster’s furever home wishes:
♥ ANOTHER PUG – YES! Buster has always had pug companions. It would be best if he had a female puggy of a similar age as a companion. He may suit being a third or fourth pug in a home with middle aged to senior pugs depending on the other male pugs temperaments. Captain will not be rehomed with other male pugs/dogs. Buster will not be rehomed as a single pug. Buster will not be rehomed with other breeds of dogs.
♥ HUMANS – Buster is seeking humans that can put in his eye drops and be his guardian for his senior years. Buster will get under feet so is not suited to anyone not stable or with limited sight.
♥KIDS – Buster may be fine with children who are respectful to dogs.
♥FENCING – Buster as with all of our pugs requires secure brick, timber or colourbond fencing.
♥CATS – No.
♥EXERCISE – Buster would be happy with a short 5 to 10 minute stroll a day.
♥WORKING HOURS – Not suitable for homes where he would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Buster absolutely requires air-condition.
♥Access to the inside of his house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥HOUSE & YARD SIZE/TYPE – Buster needs a home that has limited stairs and landings both in the home and out in the garden as he will fall off them and hurt himself. He is fantastic at getting around he just needs safe spaces.
