Annie is an extra special puggy girl with a rather unique tail to tell everyone….
With her pretty eyes and beautiful face she just loves to have fun…….
After much vetwork and care she now can’t wait to find her very own furever family including a dad and/or mum…

Coming into Pug Rescue care from a rural pound…
We were surprised to see something a bit odd when we turned her around….
Annie it turns out is a quite rare true hermaphrodite as she had a full set of both male and female internal and external reproductive organs (penis, testicles, vagina, uterus, ovaries) the Knox Vet team found….
Meaning Annie underwent not only spaying/desexing but also castration/desexing and Dr Kent was able to perform some plastic surgery to gender reassign/confirm Annie’s genitals so she looks like all the other female puggies that are running around….

A dental and vaccination Annie has also had…..
He breathing was very loud and huffy and her snoring was extremely bad….
So Specialist BOAS airway surgery by Dr Alex from MARS at Patterson River Vet – folded palatoplasty to shorten and thin her long soft palate, tonsillectomy to remove her massive tonsils and widening of her nares (nostrils) was done…
Meaning she no longer snores like a steam train or struggles to breath when she runs around having fun….

Annie is very sociable with other puggies and is happy to share…
If you sit down and don’t pat her she will just give you a ‘please pat me’ stare…
She loves the companionship of puggy friends and will play chasey, wrestling and cuddled up with her favorite pug friend and is great out socalising in group gatherings….
Annie will play with only a few particular toys and playing chasey and wrestling is more her thing…

Annie is a very active, bight and alert girl who loves to love and adores attention….
Oh and she gets very excited if it’s walkies you mention?
As she simply loves getting out and about with her toes tapping the ground….
And strutting her glistening black puggy physique and stunning eyes around….
Annie hopes somewhere out there, there is an amazing furever home for her to be found….

ANNIE XXX

Annie sleeps on an indoor doggy bed that she is happy to share with another pug. She also loves her crate and will ask to go into it, she is quite happy to share her crate with another pug.
Annie is toilet trained.
Annie loves walks. She will trot along on a harness and lead at quite a pace. She can be slightly reactive/over stimulated but this is easily controlled with vocal commands and the use of treats. Annie is fine in a crate in the car.
Annie knows how to sit and wait and wait until told it’s ok to eat.

Annie’s furever home wishes:

♥ OTHER PUG – YES! Annie does best with puggy friends and she is not suited to being a single dog. She must have a home with a desexed, healthy, not overweight, well trained and very well socialised outgoing but non reactive male pug of a similar age to herself. (approx 5 years to 7 years old). Annie is not suited to being homed with another female pug nor suited to being homed with another breed of dog.
♥ HUMANS – Annie is seeking humans that can provide her with good leadership. She is extremely responsive to being shown the correct way to do things.
♥KIDS – Annie is great with kids of all ages.
♥FENCING – Aria with all of our pugs requires secure brick, timber or colourbond fencing. Annie is a taller female pug so no knee/thigh high fencing please.
♥CATS – We are unsure if Annie would be ok with cats. She may be ok with cats that are used to dogs.
♥EXERCISE -Annie loves her walks and adventures and requires at least a 30+ minute walk a day.
♥WORKING HOURS – Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Annie absolutely requires air-condition.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥HOUSE & YARD SIZE/TYPE: Annie needs a home with a yard.

Medical notes:

Annie has undergone desexing and gender confirmation surgery.
Annie has undergone specialist airway surgery by Dr Alex of Melbourne Animal Referral Services (folded palatoplasty to trim and reduce the thickness of her soft palate, widening of her nares/nostrils and tonsillectomy)
Annie has undergone vaccination and a dental at Knox Vet. Annie has undergone hip xrays which show some hip dysplaysia and a joint supplement and keeping her a healthy weight will minimise any issues.
