BITSY

To enquire about adopting Bitsy please email with how your home and lifestyle matches her furever home wishes. (Please include your Name, Email Address, Suburb & Phone Number): info@pugrescue.org.au

Please read our Adoption Process Here

Female Fawn Desexed Pug
Microchip Number: #956000004435471
DOB:07/04/2010

Bitsy is a teeny tiny little pug….
Who along with the perfect dash of cheekiness is filled with so much love….
She doesn’t let anything stop her…
And she says comes with the bonus of magical fibers of puggy fur…

Bitsy is first on the scene of everything….
Checking it out and whilst giving a little smirky grin …..
She will stare deep into your eyes with adoration….
And loves to be held like a baby insisting that it’s her humans obligation…

She likes to have a little wrestle with a puggy friend….
And will have a potter about the garden and then curl up on a comfy bed at days end…..
Steps help her get up onto the couch…
Where she thinks she belongs as she loves being queen of her foster house…

In her past life Bitsy was used to breed many litters then placed up for sale without a name or age on Facebook, thankfully some special people helped her come into Pug Rescue care to start a new life…
Which is lucky as she had many health issues and some behavioural issues meaning she was in big strife….
Her breathing was horrendous, she had a long term untreated UTI, she was not desexed, she had wonky back legs from undiagnosed hip issues and a previously fractured knee and she was covered in hundreds of fleas…
Baths, brushes to get rid of the fleas then desexing, airway surgery, vaccination, xrays, arthritis injections at Knox Vet have all been done for Bitsy now which makes us all pleased….
After Pug Rescue has spent $3,000+ on her vet work with the generous public donating $1,600 to help cover the cost of her airway, desexing and urinalysis she can now breath without struggle and is a happy and much healthier little girl….
So much so that her tail is now always curled…

Bitsy can’t wait to find a furever home…..
With humans that will treat her like a princess and doggy brother or boyfriend and never be alone….

Bitsy is: crate trained or will sleep in a doggy bed, she toilet trained and is fine on a lead and harness or can be easily carried.

Bitsy’s furever home wishes:

♥Bitsy is seeking a desexed small male Pug or small male dog of a similar breed such as a Shitzu, Maltese, Cavalier etc  of a similar age as a companion and playmate ( between 7 to 9 years). Bitsy will not be rehomed as a single pug  or with larger breeds of dogs.   Please don’t ask for her to be.  She may be suitable for a home with an established older pair of pugs/small dogs but we would have to assess if adding her to a home with an established pair would work as the female of your pack may not accept Bitsy causing your male to also not accept her.  Bitsy is tiny and can not defend her self.
♥Bitsy may be suited to homes with young children.
♥Bitsy requires her home to be airconditioned.
♥Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 so that she can access air-condition and heating and also go to the toilet and an indoor bed and of course secure fencing.
♥Bitsy is suitable for homes with smaller yards. She is suitable for apartments, units, townhouses etc if they have a yard/courtyard that she can access to toilet in.

Medical notes:

Bitsy is desexed, C5 vaccinated, microchipped & up to date with worming & flea prevention.

Bitsy has undergone airway surgery at Knox Vet to widen her nostrils and resect her soft pallet.

Bitsy has an altered gait which xrays show may be due to hip displaysia/arthritis and a previous fracture in one of her knees.  She has undergone a course of arthritis injections.   She would need to be carried if walking far disances. She has no issues getting around inside her foster home or the garden, she can climb onto the couch with a small step, is fine getting up and down 3 house back steps and will take herself outside to toilet.  She knows when she is toileting and will hold on until she is able to go do so.

Bitsy has been treated for a UTI.

Bitsy has undergone $3,000+ in vet work whilst in Pug Rescue’s care.

He knows everyone is envious of his fabulous natural bed hair….
This sweet little guy…..
Has such a happy smile and cheeky glint in his eye…..

Harold enjoys playing with soft toys shaking them about and playing tug of war….
He will even have a wrestle with puggy friends whilst wagging his little tail and prancing on his scruffy paws…..
He sits and waits till told ok when he is fed….
At the end of the day he enjoys curling up in a soft bed….
To rest his little scruffy head…

He will trot around the house….
As quiet as a mouse….
Following his humans around or hanging out with a foster puggy mate…
Harold thinks living the pug life is great…..

In Pug Rescue care….
As well as some styling of his fabulous hair…..
Harold has undergone a dental, been to see the eye specialist and also undergone a course of arthritis injections which have helped put the spring back into his step…

Harold’s furever home wishes:

  • ♥Harold is seeking a suitable desexed female pug, pug x or small breed scruffy terrier of a similar age  (aged approx. 8 to 10 years) as a companion and play friend.
  • ♥Harold has previously lived with other pugs including a male pug but we feel it’s best his new home doesn’t contain one (unless the humans of the home are very good pack leaders) as two boys will hump, mark, ear lick etc.  Harold is not suitable as a single dog or with another larger breed of dog.
  • ♥Harold is seeking humans that can show him good leadership as he can be slightly excitable in certain situations but this is easily rectified.
  • ♥Harold is fine with kids of all ages.
  • ♥Harold as with all of our pugs requires secure fencing.
  • ♥Harold is fine with dog savvy cats.

Harold is desexed, C5 vaccinated, microchipped, has undergone a dental, undergone xrays of his hips, spine and knees and is up to date with his worming & flea prevention.

Harold has some arthritis (mainly in his hips and a small amount in his knees) and has undergone two courses of arthritis injections which have helped him greatly.

Harold has some normal older dog changes to his eyes and due to his hairy face occasionally has a weepy eye which eye specialists Melbourne Eye Vet have advised some over the counter eye drops from the chemist can control.

Harold has undergone over $1,500 of vet care whilst in Pug Rescue care.
