Female Fawn Desexed French Bulldog X Pug
Microchip Number: #956000005590114
DOB: 03/12/2016

Bridgette is the cutest  2 & 1/2 year old Gremlin you could every meet…..
Ok we admit that maybe she’s nearly all Frenchie with a dash of pug to make her complete….
She loves to dabble in yoga poses part time….
And carry her ears either high and sticking up or flat and streamlined….

Bridgette loves to run, wrestle and play with her friends and has always done so….
She can put on a very entertaining wrestling show….
Soft toys are also heaps of fun….
And so are nylabones and deer antlers which makes Bridgette go yum, yum, yum….

In Pug Rescue’s care Bridgette has undergone $6,000+ in vet treatment and surgery…
Desexing, vaccination and two airway surgeries, one at Knox Vet & one at SouthPaws, widening her nostrils, resecting her soft palate and larangeal saccuels meaning she no longer breaths like she needs to go to emergency…
Xrays of her wonky spine and throat have also been done…
A deformity of her spine was found but Bridgette says that’s what gives her the ability to be expert at yoga and she can still jump on the couch and run….
Xrays of her throat and chest as well as blood tests, liver function tests, fluroscope and an endoscope of her esophogus have also been performed to work out why she sometimes brings small amounts of her food back up…
But after every test has proved inconclusive so Pug Rescue has diagnosed Bridgette as a strange little special gremilin pup…
Bridgette despite all her quirks that make her unique…
Lives life to the fullest and is very sweet….

Learning about the big wide world for Bridgette has been fun….
She has come along leaps an bounds with confidence and can even sit and wait for dinner thanks to her foster doggy siblings and foster mum….
Sometimes she can be a bit timid of new things but she now doesn’t take long….
To work out things are ok and thinks couches are great if there is one available to jump up on….

Bridgette hopes to find a furever home with a small Frenchie boyfriend to be her best friend and guide…..
And to find furever humans who will love and adore her would make Bridgette’s little heart swell with pride….

Bridgette is toilet trained, will sit and wait until told it’s ok to eat, is crate trained or will sleep in a doggy bed and walks quite nicely on a lead and harness with a confident companion dog.

Bridgette’s furever home wishes:

♥Bridgette is seeking a desexed male French Bulldog or French Bulldog x of a similar age and looks as a companion ( between 2 to 4 years). Bridgette is a petite female who is all muscle weighing 8.6kg. Bridgette absolutely will not be rehomed as a single dog or with another breed of dog then those specified or with another female. Please don’t ask for her to be.
♥Bridgette is seeking humans that have most likely completed their human family and understand she is an ex breeding girl and quickly learning about the big wide world. She will sometimes be headshy and crouch low to the ground or sit in one position being wary but this is becoming less and less and she just has to be spoken to and she becomes happy Bridgette again.
♥Bridgette is seeking a home where there are children 12+.
♥Bridgette has never lived with cats and we are unsure of her reaction to them.
♥Not suitable for homes where she would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Access to the inside of her house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥Bridgette is suitable for homes with smaller yards or homes with decent sized courtyards. She is not suitable for apartments, units, townhouses etc with no access to a yard/courtyard/outside. She knows to go out to the toilet and loves to have a run and tumble outside.
♥Bridgette does enjoy walks and she really enjoys sitting on the front passenger seat for car rides.
♥Bridgette needs strong leaders who can not only understand her special ex breeding girl needs but also correct her cheeky behaviour side which includes getting very excited and jumping around and up and down. We have worked on teaching her that being very over excited is not appropriate and she will now stop and sit and try her best to contain her wiggles.
♥Bridgette of course requires air-condition.

Medical notes:

Bridgette has undergone $6,000+ in vet work whilst in Pug Rescue care. She is desexed, C5 vaccinated, microchipped, undergone xrays of her esophogus, undergone xrays of her spine, undergone fluoroscope of her digestive system, undergone full bloods and liver function blood tests, undergone scope of her esophagus & is up to date with her worming & flea prevention.

Bridgette has undergone two airway surgeries which has widened her nostrils, resected her soft pallet and removed her larangeal saccuels. One at Knox Vet Clinic and one at SouthPaws. Although drastically improved her breathing is still not perfect and her new family will need to accept this and never let her overheat in the warmer weather.

Bridgette has some deformed spinal discs (block vertebrae) causing her body to seem a bit hunched and for her to usually prefer to stick one of her legs out behind her when sitting. The deformity doesn’t cause her any toileting or walking issues at all. We tell Bridgette she was blessed with the ability to do yoga poses.

Bridgette has luxating patella’s in both knees but under specialist advice (Dr Ricky at SouthPaws) typical luxating patella surgery to correct the luxating would fail as Bridgette’s leg bones are bowed. As Bridgette happily gets around running and playing and even jumping on couches specialist advice is to just let Bridgette be Bridgette.

Bridgette has a form of reflux that occurs a few times during the 10 to 15 minutes after she eats. She will reflux small amounts of food into her mouth and then re swallow it. ( similar to what cows do with grass) We have tried different foods, food bowls and done every test and specialist test possible including xrays, bloods, fluoscope study of her eating and a scope of her esophagus but can not find a cause to this. We have her on some daily reflux meds (Losec) which vets think is a good idea to keep her on in the long term.

Bridgette has pretty much has most of the normal Frenchie or Bulldog health issues that we as a volunteer charity rescue group have gone above and beyond what most normal people would have done and spent to diagnose, treat and correct.

SPUD (No more enquiries please)

To enquire about adopting Spud please email with how your home and lifestyle matches his furever home wishes. (Please include your Name, Email Address, Suburb & Phone Number): info@pugrescue.org.au

Please read our Adoption Process Here

Male Fawn Desexed Pug

Microchip Number: #943094330180357
DOB: 18/05/2010

Hugs are wanted by Spud…
Who could resist his happy little puggy mug…
A little heartbeat at your feet….
He loves trotting about with you or laying near you for a sleep….

Bright and alert Spud is up to check anything exciting out and join in….
He loves to know what is going on as he wears his cheeky grin….
His little paws go tip tap, tip tap….
Whilst his tail waggles forwards and back….

You may recall Spud is the guy…
He arrived into our care after being dumped at a pound with a rotted mouth and crumbling broken jaw, obese, infected ears, filthy and in such a terribly neglected state we wanted to cry….
After quite a road to recovery with us including removal of all his teeth, stitching his broken jaw together at Knox Vet Clinic and 5kg of weight lost and restoration of his eye sight with daily eye drops he was diagnosed by Melbourne EyeVet with a cancerous growth on his eye…
This cancer was the direct result of his past life’s horrible neglect….
But thankfully Spud has now had specialist surgery performed to remove completely the cancerous growth and save his eyesight so we have told Spud to forget…
His past life as now  as after we have spent countless hours and $4,000+ in vet care on him it’s time to find a furever home which is the best thing to happen for him yet…

Spud will have a little game of wrestle with a puggy friend….
And does enjoy cuddling up to another pug when the day comes to an end….
He loves walkies and get’s excited when it’s time to pound the streets….
Everyone who meets him says he’s sweet….

When it’s time for his eye drops Spud is a good boy and lines up for foster mum to drop them in…
He also sits and waits perfectly when it’s time for din din’s…

Spud so hopes there is a pawfect forever home out there for him….
He’s been through so much a furever family would truly make him grin…

Spud is toilet trained, will sit and wait until told it’s ok to eat, is crate trained and also happy to sleep on a doggy bed, walks nicely on a lead and harness.

Spud’s furever home wishes:

  • ♥Spud would also like a senior docile female pug or small breed such as a cavalier of  similar age that was seeking companionship and the occasional play time.
  • ♥Spud is not suitable to be rehomed with another male pug/dog or with larger breeds of dogs.  Please don’t ask for him to be.
  • ♥Spud is seeking humans that can show him good leadership.  He is very receptive to positive directions.  He’s not suited to anyone unsteady on their feet or anyone that can not lay some ground rules for him as he is cheeky and will tantrum if he thinks he can.
  • ♥Spud is best suited to children who are 8+ as younger kid are a little bit too busy for him.  He would love an active home.
  • ♥Spud with all of our pugs requires secure fencing.

  • ♥Spud requires at least a 15 minute walk every day.
  • ♥Not suitable for homes where he would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
  • ♥Spud of course requires air-condition.
  • ♥Access to the inside of his house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
  • ♥Spud may be suitable for homes with smaller yards.  He does however require a yard area to run around in and get some fresh air and sun and to go to the toilet.

Medical notes:

Spud is desexed, C5 vaccinated, microchipped & up to date with his worming & flea prevention.

Spud has been successfully treated for ear infections.

Spud has undergone a major dental where all of his teeth had to be removed.  He copes just fine with eating and eats raw food with chopped up chicken necks and occasionally some dry food.

Spud has pigmentary keratitis on his eyes which he requires twice daily Maxidex & Tacrolimus eye drops for to remove and restore his eye sight.  During his time in care with his daily drops the pigment has reduced dramatically.  His new family will need to continue these eye drops and continue his appointments with his eye specialist who are located in Mulgrave.  www.melbourneeyevet.com.au

Spud has undergone specialist surgery to remove a cancerous growth from his eye.  His eye sight has been saved and the growth has been completely removed.

Spud has some arthritis in his hips which does not bother him.

BENTLEY

To enquire about adopting Bentley please email with how your home and lifestyle matches his furever home wishes. (Please include your Name, Email Address, Suburb & Phone Number): info@pugrescue.org.au
Please read our Adoption Process Here

Male Fawn Desexed Pug X
Microchip Number: #985113000803384
DOB: 15/12/2017

Bentley is a sweet and soft natured little guy…
With a good dash of cheekiness that you can see glinting from his eyes…
He has a great toothy smile too….
And playing wrestle mania and chasey with puggy friends is one of his most favourite things to do….

Arriving into Pug Rescue care lacking manners and with terrible breathing he’s come such a long way in the past little while…
With behavioural work in his foster home he no longer chews up his bedding, will now come when called and wait instead of his previous behaviours of running away/ playing keeping off and he knows that jumping up is not good and tries his very best sit his puggy butt on the ground whilst giving a nice smile…
Vet work totalling $2,100+ including specialist airway surgery completed at SouthPaws has put an end to his terrible breathing for which he is glad…
As Bentley agrees with us that sounding like a steam train and struggling for air was bad….

Running, wrestling, chasey, tug of war and walkies are all at the top of Bentley’s daily to do list…
Also hugs and cuddles are things he has learnt to love and tells us that he secretly can’t resist….
Chew toys are also great fun…
Such a loyal intelligent little guy Bentley is says his foster mum…

Car rides are exciting and walks are great as well….
Bentley thinks socialising is swell…
Bentley now knows that he has to sit and wait for dinner to be served…
And will only eat when the ok word is heard…..

Bentley can’t wait to find a furever home….
Of his very own…
He has so many adventures to go on and things to see and do…
He just knows their is a perfect furever family out there that will make all of his dreams come true…

Bentley is: crate trained or will sleep in a doggy bed, toilet trained, is a great walker on a lead and harness but at times can be excitable/ jumpy/pully.

Bentley’s furever home wishes:

♥ Bentley is not suited to a home with cats or other small pocket pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs.
♥ Bentley is seeking a desexed pug female or small desexed female pug x that looks similar to himself of a similar age as a companion and especially a play friend (between 1 to 3 years). Bentley will not be rehomed as a single pug or with another male dog or with another breed of dog.  Please don’t ask for him to be.
♥Bentley is seeking humans that are good leaders who understand how to implement dog self control training for things such as recall, jumping up and over excitement.
♥Bentley may be suitable for young children who are respectful of dogs and do not chase after them etc. Bentley is still snatchy when it comes to treats and has learnt not to run away/ play keepings off when called and has learnt he must sit and not jump up if he wants attention.  Small children most often don’t understand not to chase after dogs and will make dogs over excited and jumpy which would be detrimental to the many hours of behavioural work we have done with Bentley.
♥Not suitable for homes where he would be left without humans for 6+ hours a day on a regular basis.
♥Bentley must have daily walks of at least 30 minute.
♥Access to the inside of his house 24/7 and an indoor bed.
♥Bentley is not suitable for apartments, units, townhouses etc  that do not have a yard.  He’s more suitable for a larger sized older suburban block.

Medical notes

Bentley is  has undergone airways surgery, is desexed, C5 vaccinated,  microchipped, up to date with worm & flea prevention.
Bentley has undergone $2,100+ in discounted vet work including specialist airway surgery at SouthPaws and hip xrays.  The normal cost of his vet work would be $3,000+
